MINUTES FOR 3/11/98 CLUB MEETING

The meeting started at 11:35 A.M. The Toastmaster of the Day was Herman Gallardo. We had three assigned speakers : "Operation Vittles" by Tex Baird; "Seasonal Changes of Life" by Evette Brown-Conwell; and "Delegation" by Paul McCeney. Pat McHale was the Table Topics Master. The question was "If you have to choose a Category, which Category would you choose, and why?" We have the following categories, contestants and answers :

The General Evaluator was Jeane Ryan. Regina Cody evaluated Tex Baird's speech. Jane Liu evaluated Evette Brown-Conwell's speech. Angie Upshur evaluated Paul McCeney's speech. The Time Keeper was Carl Taylor. The Whisker Counter was Angie Upshur. The Grammarian was Bill Pullen. The Ballot Counter was Ye Hong.

The best Table Topics contestant was Jeane Ryan. The best Evaluator was Regina Cody. The best speaker was Paul McCeney.

Area 45 Speech and Evaluation Contest will be held on Friday, March 20, 1998 at EER Systems, 10289 Aerospace Road, Seabrook, Md. Representing our club in the International Speech Contest will be Angie Upshur. Regina Cody will represent our club in the Evaluation Contest. Please come and support your clube members.

Volunteers are needed to assist Angie Upshur with the Youth Leadership Module. If you can help, please contact her. It will be a rewarding experience for you.

Toastmaster International (TMI) President will visit District 36 clubs on Saturday, May 16, 1998 at Quality Inn, 8727 Colesville Road, and he will participate in the TMI contest that day.
